General Manager Message

From the General Manager

July is a very busy month in StillWaters. According to the Gallup Poll, 51% of Americans vacation during the month of July. We welcome everyone that comes to visit family and friends in StillWaters during the month of July and hope you enjoy all StillWaters has to offer.

SWRA and other property owners will soon complete the repair and painting of the wood fence that borders the property around the Gate 34 entrance. The fence has been repaired and painted a more updated color. The new dark brown color will not show stains and mildew as much as the old white color. The SWRA office has received several inquiries as to why part of the fence was left white. This is because the fence is only partially owned by SWRA. There are several different owners of the fence. All but one of the owners agreed to the new color. This is why you see most of the fence the new dark brown color and a small portion of it is still white.

The SWRA office has received several inquiries about playing Pickle Ball at the courts located on StillWaters Drive. The courts are available on a first come, first serve basis. There are a few different groups that play regularly. Any StillWaters property owner that is interested in playing and has been issued an electronic gate card by SWRA can just show up to play. Most of the groups start around 7:30am on weekday mornings. Guests of property owners are also welcome but must be accompanied by a property owner with an electronic gate card.

Mark your calendar now to attend the presentation Alabama, the River State by Dr. Bill Deutsch on Saturday, August 25th beginning at 9:30am. The presentation will be held in the community room located in the SWRA Centre at 1816 StillWaters Drive. More information about Alabama, the River State can be found in this newsletter.

SWRA prohibits the use of fireworks inside StillWaters. There are too many buildings and a dry forest that could accidently catch fire from wayward fireworks. Sometimes property owners forget and use fireworks during holidays, especially on July 4th. Property owners that are caught using fireworks can be fined as much as $500 by SWRA. Don’t take the chance of getting caught. There is a great fireworks display at the AMP located at 8878 Kowaliga Road, Eclectic, AL 36024. Take the whole family and enjoy the bands until the fireworks start at 9pm. You can also take your boat to Kowaliga Bay on Lake Martin and have a great seat out on the water. For more information about the AMP July 4th events visit their web site http://www.theamponlakemartin.com/index.html.

The StillWaters Pineview pool is a great place to cool off on a hot July day. Make sure you have purchased your electronic gate card that allows you access to the pool. Electronic gate cards can be purchased for $10 at the SWRA Administration office located in the SWRA Centre.

Have a save and happy July 4th holiday. Hope to see you in StillWaters.
